The slower parts seem to be more focused and serene while the faster are somewhat acidic. In other words, the album may be less tiresome if consumed in small doses. It seems the whole album is a display of technical musicianship rather than an inspired outcome. Koelber and C. In spite of being the last document of the Crumbsuckers, B. Fans of their first full-length were perhaps disappointed after listening to B.
The songs are decent, even good at tearing your neighbors' ears apart, but get a regular grade in being catchy. December 24, at am Reply. Jennifer Guest. Chiwestsider Guest. December 26, at pm Reply. I've made a few mistakes Don't think I'll ever live them down I'm a prisoner of guilt To my past forever bound To follow the straight and narrow was always on my mind But I let my guard down, I tripped the line Never ever thought I would take a fall Didn't think it would happen, no I was too strong Forever haunted by a beast on my back Deceitful temptation, a planned attack I'm a victim of the evil one Can't turn around, live my life on the turn My mind's plagued with guilt 'Til the day I die I want to live a better life Believe me I try Prayed that the past would soon disappear No matter how hard I try My memory is clear The wicked law prevails Intentions have turned sour Intensity of evil grows Stronger by the hour Once again I've lost my balance And stumbled to the ground Will I ever be free?
How long shall I be bound? I despise the vice I worship Hope it's not too late A weak and spineless victim Doing what I hate Temptations - seize me and I become a slave Succumbing - to human nature No man can save me!
Beast on my back In agony I dwell Beast on my back This is a living hell I've felt this way before So empty inside Trust the promises of the world To find out that they've lied The nightmare is now over The scars shall never fade Etched into my memory Are the mistakes that I have made What a wretched being Such unease! Trapped within this shell of death Rescue me! The spirit of life Freed from sin!
The fight is not yet over But we'll win! It's a bit showy and it's different, but largely these parts are just kind of empty. They don't add much fire and I don't think they fit in too well either. There are some moments on this album, but overall they sound subdued and tired. Don't get me started on teh cover either. Sir, you are one of the few to admit liking this tape. The drummer from Kinghorse is the only other person who I know who liked B. I stand by my comments. Now, I'm not saying that this is the greatest album of all time fuck, I've never said that about any album but it certainly doesn't deserve to be ignored.
As for it being good or likable, I feel that it certainly is, or else I wouldn't have written the review. Don't hold an album like this by today's standards. I'm not asking anyone to hold it up to somebody like, shit. I don't know, Hatebreed, and expect it to walk hand in hand with it. But as it came out in , how different was it from the rest of the music being released in that time period? How unique was the mindset of the band from that of their peers in ? How much intestinal fortitude did it take to kick down a wall of a pretty close minded genre, knowing full well that they were either gonna' get flamed or misunderstood or both and continue down that path of creativity regardless of the repurcussions?
I love it. I flat out miss 'em! Advanced Search. Track Listing. Jimmies Dream. Initial Shock. I Am He. The Connection. Remembering Tomorrow. Beast on My Back.
